About
Relocalize Sacramento! is small group of activists studying current systems and learning what changes are needed for sustainability. We believe that relocalizing our communities is necessary to achieve sustainability: promoting local food, community design and consumer choices instead of the globalized, fossil fuel economy that's ruining the environment.
We're engaged in:
- producing comprehensive sustainable standards for new development;
- looking at our waste, resource, and energy streams from a closed-loop perspective;
- promoting local food and water sources;
- supporting "green" construction and reuse of salvaged building materials;
- advocating for a smart and sustainable urban community footprint;
- discussing how to cope, and perhaps even thrive, in an energy-constrained future;
and
- envisioning a better Sacramento through networking with other groups, fostering connections, and building community.
